As spring has arrived, I think of new beginnings. Spring, with its blooming flowers, warmer weather, and longer days, is often associated with new beginnings and fresh starts.
What is a new beginning? Starting fresh! Starting fresh gives you the chance to reevaluate your priorities and establish new habits and behaviors. There are many kinds of new beginnings that offer good opportunities for starting fresh, and knowing how to recognize them can help you take charge of your life. Just as nature undergoes a dramatic change from winter to spring, we, too, can harness the power of change in our lives during this season. Springtime can be a reminder that change is a natural part of life and that it’s never too late to make positive changes. It’s a time to step out of our comfort zones, take risks, and embrace new opportunities.
I was at a program in New York City with my main focus being taking opportunities. After my program, a lady came up to me and said, “I have always wanted to take piano lessons.” I asked her, “Why aren’t you?”
Her response was a bit surprising to me. She used excuse after excuse with one of them being, “I’m just too old.” After our brief conversation, I felt I convinced her that age is only a number, and you are never too old. About six weeks later, I received an email from her. As I started reading this email, I kept getting a bigger and bigger smile on my face. She explained to me that after our conversation, she found someone who teaches piano lessons and is now taking lessons. I was thrilled and told her how proud of her I was. A new beginning is stepping out of your comfort zone and starting fresh. A new beginning is about moving forward with new opportunities.
We all have the potential to achieve great things, but sometimes our own thoughts can hold us back from reaching our full potential. I want you to think about something that you would like to do to start a new beginning. Some ideas are:
- Get more organized
- Reduce debt
- Live healthier
- Stop procrastinating
- Reduce stress
- Get rid of negative people
- Reduce guilt
- Find more balance
- Live from a place of more kindness
- Get to know “ME” better
- Increase career/Job satisfaction
Which of these would you like to start your new beginning with?
As spring arrives, embrace a fresh start.
